Starter issues

I recently bought a strada 2t 50.
I've been unable to get the electric srarter to function.
The battery is fine.
All the lights and guages function.
It kick starts fine.
When I try the kick starter, there is a clucking coming from the relay, and the starter itself gets pretty hot.
When I got it,the intermediary gear was stripped,so I replaced it.
Also,I should mention there is an alarm, but no apparent malfunction there.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

starter issues

Yes,I tried jumping at the relsy...same resilt.
last night I decided to look at the starter clutch.
All the roller bearings were out of the race, causing the gear to adopt an eliptical motion, resulting in a bind.
Im on my way t scrappydogscooters to get a new starter clutch.
I'll do the instal tonight.
Wish me luck.
