tune up an carb 500 miles

Well,
my Jingausu gator 50 qmb136 scooter needed a new carburetor. I have just over 450 miles and had a no idle/stall issue replacing the carb fixed that. I got a new fuel filter & spark plug, a good one (NGK) my scooter had a cheap one houck? So had that replaced. I had all the fluids changed as well. Then took it for a 40-mile ride and what a difference. It idles, runs, accelerates so much better.
I had this done 2 weeks ago. I notice 1 issue and that is on a cold start I don't get that fast idle like I used to. BUT it starts 1st try and runs so much better. I don't let it sit more than 4 days or so without running it a few miles.

The scooter is garaged & never driven in rain. I wonder if being in Florida may be why I don't get that fast idle? Although the other scooter always had that fast idle when I let it sit a couple of days. It has been quite warm lately. I also checked that the high idle plug is in & tight, I even took it out & reseated it

I wonder if it is anything to be concerned about. It sure runs alot better.

New carb at 400 miles though? gee.

When I had my TaoTao, Lancer, the fast idle, enricher, never really worked right.
It would start fast but the drop off within seconds, and stall. I had to baby the throttle until it warmed up a bit to keep it running.
I tried a manual choke (enricher) kit; that worked for a while, but then created a vacuum leak.
Do you have the old carb.? Perhaps swap the old enricher into the new carb.?.

If it works better when you're riding it, leave it alone. The GY6 in any size gets better as the miles pile up.

I just bought a 169cc GY6 and I wasn't impressed when I first got it. Even with only 150 miles it's changed a lot. At first it didn't idle worth a damn when cold. Now it runs much better when cold and pulls stronger with each passing mile. You won't believe the difference after a couple of thousand miles. My 2008 150 purred like a kitten after the first thousand and still got stronger after that.
