Sounds like you need to readjust the valves slightly. I had the same issue when I did my first valve adjustments. What I do is tighten the valves all the way, then slowly back off until I get the correct clearance.

My vento valves have never been adjusted I couldn't break the bolts loose on the cam it now has over 15k on it and runs great
