Roketa 250cc Scooter Type 54B

one week in, still runs great just hit 100 miles. Then last night, I was leaving home depot and it wont start. Jumped it, started right up. Took it to auto zone to test the battery, battery says it needs to be replaced. The place I got it from says it was a new battery, so I dont want to just get a new battery yet. Cool thing about the place I got it from is they are sending me a voltage regulator. They say its an easy switch out, plug an play type thing. They claim its common with this scoot.
Anyone have experaince with this issue?
