speedo accuracy?

hey guys just out of curiosity how accurate are speedos on 150 scooters typically? I hit about 63mph on the straight away by my house. It felt pretty accurate but i'm unsure. my speedo only goes to 60 but it actually went past 60 a decent amount.

Thought i'd keep check on it guys. I love riding mine but this winter storm Brrr! it's awful. So my scoot is off duty for a couple days.

Ice was so solid on the roads I couldn't go over 5 mph. (had to go get dog food)

It can be all over the place but usually 10% optimistic is common for the 150cc and smaller scooters. Definitely check yours against a GPS, you might be a little disappointed.

The 10 in wheels often display faster than they are going . My scoot with 13s was 4MPH off in 3 tests at diff speeds with a radar . My scoot with 16s was 1 MPH doing the same radar test . There was a speed sign up that displayed ones speed in order to let people know they were speeding that I used . I have even seen kits for motorcycles to get the speedo more accurate . There is a few speed apps out there but I am unsure if a smartphone would be as accurate as a GPS unit .

I love it when I bust people who lie and say their scoot goes XMPH and we race and they go much slower than they claim .

A buddy who had the same setup as my old scoot with 10s would display 55 MPH while on my Echarm with 16s it showed 45 MPH while we rode side by side
