hey pal, i didnt buy a carb cause i discovered that it was a broken carb drain hose (see picture) the only things that are left to unhook would be the enricher and the throttle, how do i unhook the throttle

yes, correct. i double checked before i removing the carb to see where the leak was coming from, it was leaking out of the hose then when i removed the air hose and then the manifold i could then move the carb at an angle to have a better view of the hose and sure enough it has a big gash right on the bottom of the hose, facing down ward

its so simple but hard to explain lol. i wish i was by my scoot now so i could send pic. If you have loosened the intake manifold clamp, you should have some play to turn the carb a little sideways. Then you can see/feel the 2 screws. or just pull the carb off and the access will be alot easier.

Carb project update::

i removed the carb!

now thinking about either getting a new or clean out the carb
by the way, has anyone heard about this carb brand? i think it says 'HLIC' (stock carb)

CARB UPDATE: ok guys i finally bought a carb (yay) but it isnt high performance, i know, bummer. Its actually the same size (24mm, Sheng Wey carb) but its made in taiwan not china so it is an UPGRADE, the reason i did this is cause i didnt want to spend too much money at this time (having job issues) later on in the future i will buy a premium high performance carb, i almost did buy one but i didn't. Anyway i just occurred to me to ask is there anything i have to do to the Carb? or is it just plug and play, just making sure cause im new to all this scooter mechanic world.

Question: when i get my new carb , should i rejet the main jet? as in get a bigger one, say if the stock one is a '105' should i upgrade to a 107? even thou i have not done any exhast or uni filter upgrade yet.

The #105 jet is probably fine for now.

The carb SHOULD be set to 2 and 1/2 turns off of seat. So to make sure SEAT the mixture screw (turn all the way CLOCKWISE but DO NOT TIGHTEN!!!) then turn the screw out 2 and 1/2 turns. PLACE BIKE ON CENTER STAND AND THEN START BIKE. Then turn the screw 1/8 turn at a time COUNTERCLOCKWISE until you get HIGHEST RPMS, then turn the screw 1/4 turn CLOCKWISE and LEAVE IT. That should be proper AIR-FUEL RATIO.

Then adjust the IDLE SCREW (screw on throttle, text to throttle cable) until the RPMS are as HIGH AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT TURNING THE REAR WHEEL.

That's it, you should be good, have fun riding!

Carb project update: finally got my NEW carb (Sheng Wey, taiwanese made) in the mail today and my new fuel hose (helix brand, blue color). now im just waiting for my main jet, which i upgraded to 108, it comes stock with 105

Just to clarify besides having a leaking carb, which was not the carb, it was a broken drain hose, i decided to buy a new carb anyway cause my scoot has a hard start since i bought it and it was getting worse. so buying a new carb would fix 2 problems (drain hose and hard start issue)...when i got home today from work, i put in the new main jet (108) on my new carb just to get a head start, im off tomorow from work so you know what that means, time to work on the scoot, besides installing my carb and fuel line, i noticed that my fuel line did not have a decline angle so i will be rerouting the fuel line and aligning the fuel filter and fuel pump in a decline for better gas flow
