Great looking, Hank!
You got a 49cc version, or a 63cc version?
49cc version does ~110 MPG, 40-43MPH tops,
63cc does ~100MPG, 45-48MPH tops.

Of course, I understand you won't be able to get correct top speed results at the break in...

TaoTao uses the same engine, and largely the same body frames for all their scooters.
Just the body panels differ.

BTW, just for your knowledge,
Corrosion X on the exhaust lasts about 3-6 weeks in a humid environment...
You may want to find high heat spray paint or something, to protect the 'chrome' on this bike.

Other than that, so far my ATM50 has had 5500km on it, and the only thing that broke was the headlight, and a wiring for the blinkers/horn came loose (ground).
It's more than triple paid itself off in gasoline alone compared to my car!

Hi
Thanks ever so much
Im thinking 63 as she has good acceleration and power, will know for sure in few days as i going to open up the engine and measure the bore and stroke
No chrome on this one mostly flat black and in ct the humidity is not nearly as bad as yours is in Florida
Corrosion x lasts for a whole season or 2 on my vehicles
Take care and ride safely dear friend
Yours Hank

Oh No

Hi
First update and its not a promising one
150 miles and the ignition is sticky doesn't always want to turn to start very easily and she left me stranded last night
WILL NOT START it appears to be fuel related
Im not impressed with Tao taos quality right now
Will be calling the local dealer tomorrow and let him deal with it as shes still under warranty
Take care and ride safely
Yours Hank

Welcome to the 'Chinese' part of Chinese scooters, where every problem is just a hair of work, costs you usually just a few bucks, but will always happen when you least expect it!
I guess you got spoiled by 'Taiwanese', 'Korean' or 'Japanese' scooters.
;-)

Hi
April is the first high end scoot in quite a while

Aprilia SR50 2 by inuyasha50, on Flickr
my last 2 where Chinese so im well aware of the problems associated with some of them
My Puma

Scooter Tag 017 by inuyasha50, on Flickr
My Redstreak

Project scoot 042 by inuyasha50, on Flickr
And over the years ive had plenty of Chinese motorbikes
My Puma though Chinese was very high quality no comparison to the tao
In over 2000 miles the only thing I replaced on her was a headlight bulb
I shall keep the tao but if I ever do get another Chinese scoot it will be a Puma
Take care and ride safely dear friend
Yours Hank
