What is the hook for on the scooters?
There's a hook under my seat. I couldn't figure it out. Almost like you would wind a cord on it. Saw it on a brand name scooter but right under the steering column too. I can't figure it out and google hasn't helped. Helmet hook or something? I wanna take it out and put in a cup holder.

Like Hank said it could get heisted. Now i always cover my scoot with a cover for more then just a vege outline on what might be under the cover to any passerby's but because a good cover will keep your scooter happy and rust/Sun damage free as best as can be. In my home town, i haven't had a problem with hooking my helmet up to the little hook, but then my home town is not as bad as hank's, although at least the thieves require a higher quality demand. (or at least they steal only the best scoot's) <--- sorry hank ) ((Puma R.I.P.)) I've tied every thing from plastic bags to small little tool bags to it. It's there for you to use for any light weight items you can use it for. http://www.nelsonrigg.com/store/BikeCovers.aspx

Excellent advice, a cover is essential, i always carry mine and use it when ever my motorbikes have to be out doors for any period of time Even on a sunny day they are of use, keeps the paint from fading and the seat from drying out fading and cracking Bike cover 005 by inuyasha50, on Flickr Cover 003 by inuyasha50, on Flickr Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

Yeah, only problem with that hook is that it's too low for a grocery bag.
I don't know how it works with a helmet. |

You need to tie or wrap the handles around the hook and it works just fine.

Yeah the hook just doesn't make sense on my bike. It's easier to put the bag between your feet if it comes to that. I've already created a bunch of extra storage.
Thanks for the reply! I want to find a tiny ultra-light weight tarp designed for a scooter. I used to be expert at sewing and one a state 4-H fair in Indiana (I'm a guy). I'm thinking of buying material but the high quality ultra-light nylon only comes in big bundles and would cost me $500. Is there anyone here who'd want a custom scooter cover that would fit in a bag the size of your fist? I have a hennesey ultra-light camping hammock that's the size of my two hands that I carry in my scooter at all times. I'd use it to cover the scooter but it's got metal hooks on the ends for hanging in trees. |

My owner's manual calls it a bag hook. I hang my Kwik-Tek drink holder from it.

I bought a "Large Motorcycle Cover" from Big Lots for 9.99 that comes with a cool bag it fits in which is about the size of a 20oz soda.
