Remove speed limiter Honda PCX 150

I started a new topic earlier about performance and speed, but it hit me... the Honda PCX 150 has to have a speed limiter on it or governor! I was cruising and just got home and hitting speeds of 65 it just stops... How do I remove this and allow my scoot to be faster and not stop at certain speeds?

Governors are a hold-over myth from mopeds of the 1990s. Most scooters have no part that serves as a governor.

Your Honda is a computer controlled fuel injected bike. There are no mods possible that will increase your top speed without highly specialized computer equipment, as it does not have an OBDII port.

Lol, you should be happy with 65, us Chino riders have to do a lot of mods to get that fast.

Indeed, I was just being stupid for a minute and thought I needed to push this scoot harder then she wants to be pushed

Curious, can one of you take a photo of the computers data connector and post it?

I got myself a Honda Service manual for my BR. It gave me a ton of confidence to wrench on mine. I'll still take it to a shop if I'm out of my comfort zone.
It's paid for it's self over the last few years.

Since I posted my replies, I found some time to perform some research. Here is what the ECU looks like on this bay page:

ebay.com/itm/13-15-HONDA-PCX150-ECM-ECU-CDI-Computer-Control-Module-/181616573979?fits=Year%3A2013|Make%3AHonda|Model%3 APCX150&hash=item2a4930fe1b&vxp=mtr

I have found 2 companies that offer "reprogramming" capabilities, one was a joke and will most likely harm the engine. Another one has some decent capabilities BUT it is not for someone that does not know how to flash an ECU or custom the map.

On another forum, someone talked of increasing the engine to 170cc and did it a few years ago. Results according to them were good w/o any drawbacks, with the exception of a few mpg. However top cruise speed increased to almost 70mpg.

I don't know where the ECU connector is, but if someone can locate it, take some photos that show it incl dimensions I might be able to build an adapter to flash them with.

the Honda manual has a section that shows it according to bay listings. and includes an ECU wiring schematic
