Isn't this red paint INSIDE the head dangerous? Paint in the engine oil can seize an engine, hot paint is like glue. Never seen an engine part painted ON THE INSIDE (why?). The red paint on the springs, for example, will fall off immediately and will get caught in the return oil and may block the oil passages of the piston or stick inside a bearing, or go just about anywhere where oil goes.

Racers do it. Makes the surface slicker allowing the oil to drain back at a more accelerated rate. The valley in my race cars engine is done the same way.

It looks like its rated for 250 degrees. I'm no expert but don't air cooled motors run nearly 300 degrees? No one has issues so I guess it works but looks like it is probably intended for use in liquid cooled vehicles...

I would link you there to the post but I dont know if its allowed or what on this forum. Just figured it is good relevent info showing that these "forced air" cooled motors can certainly run past 300 degrees. Mean Motofino
