What should I get?

1. 2005 Yamaha Zuma 11,000km in good shape.

2. E-Ton Beamer III 1400km in good shape.

3. 2010 Chinese scoot with 12" alloys etc and BBK already done, in good shape 2000km.

I'm more than willing to break out the wrench and work on any of these, and like the way they all look, my fave being the Zuma. They're all around the same price point.

I guess my question is, are the Zumas really that much better in terms of quality? The beamer has the same engine as the Zuma, but of course not made by Yamaha. I have experience wrenching on a Chinese scoot, but not the Yamaha/minarelli engine.

Any suggestions?

Is the Zuma a two stroke? The 2t Zumas run very strong and performance parts are plentiful.

I would get the Zuma out of the three if the price is equal and they are all in the same good condition
The quality, fit and finish and performance are going to be much higher then the other 2

Yea, 2-stroke Zuma. The E-Ton is also a 2-stroke and is supposed to use the same engine as the Zuma, just not Yamaha made of course.

I have been leaning toward the Zuma, but wasn't sure if I should worry about it having 11,000km.

If they're all about the same price point. Zuma all the way. You'll probably get that answer 99 out of 100 times here. Even though this is a dedicated Chinese scooter site it doesn't mean we don't know quality when we see it. Everyone here will readily admit Chinese scooters are not nearly of the same caliber as a Japanese one.

Plus if you have experience with a 2T Chinese you have experience with the Minarelli. They're pretty much the same.

Yea that's the general impression I'm getting from people, and the Zuma is the one I really want anyway. Will throw up some pics if I can get my hands on it.

If you like the zuma looks, I'd suggest a new zuma clone.
I don't know what you're aiming for, 50cc or 150cc.

Get the Zuma. Stay away from any BBK'ed gy6 you did not bbk yourself.

I like the look of the Zuma clone, but I'm in Canada, so that option doesn't work.

I'm going to look at the Zuma on Saturday, will let you guys know how it goes.

Just be aware chinese parts are a lot quicker and easier to obtain. I have been thru the wringer with yamaha, well over a month last year to get a piston. and it wasn't for the riva, Same engine as in the 2012 majesty.

Sucks you had that experience, but I doubt it's the same situation for the Zuma 50. Even if Yamaha is a pain to deal with, there are so many aftermarket parts for that thing, I don't think parts will be an issue. No way it would be worse than trying to get parts for the Hyosung I just sold. (It had a Morini motor instead of the Minarelli that is used in the Zuma and a ton of other 2T scoots.

My scooter dealer bought a used Zuma with BBK and LV70 pipe and it is a wheelie popper . Yamaha is waaaaaay better than the China stuff .

Got the Zuma, or BWS as they're called here in Canada. You guys were so right! It's built better, it runs better, it handles better, and it goes way faster than the shitty old scooter I just got rid of. This is what I was expecting from a 2T scooter! Had a lot of fun riding it around after I bought it yesterday!
