Need To Find New Carb for 2010 Taotao
Hi Everyone!
I have a 2010 Taotao 50, 49cc scooter. It sat all winter, and the carb is so clogged, it will no longer even start, and immediately dies when it does. I have someone to put it in for me, and am about to order one online. The problem is, how do I know what kind to get? Is there a way to tell what kind of bike each carb is for, or to look for the right one? I need one that will support additional modifications, such as kits, and removing the restrictions. Thank you!

Here is an excellent carb.. I know the business owners well and often get parts from them when my wholesaler is out of something. I have installed and used many of these carbs for customer scoots. Though it says 18mm they are actually 19mm carbs with the accelerator pump! They are for performance kits and come with a #90 jet so when you order ask them to send a #80 jet which would be about what your stock engine will need...then when you upgrade the engine to a big bore kit etc..you will already have the larger #90 jet on hand as the big bore kits need a bigger jet. Price is incredibly low for such a quality carb.. Here is the link...carb is the item on the right of this page..part number is S0027 btw. https://www.scooter-atvparts.com/cgi...&keywords=carb
Enjoy.. Glenn |

Thank you carlsdad! I found it!
The person who's putting it in for me said to make sure it was jetted for a high-altitude. Is there a way to check on that, or is that something I'd specify while ordering?

i bought mine like 2 days ago and waiting for it to get here, i got mine at http://www.scooterworks.com/ just type in carburetor in the search field and those are your options, look for one that says for a '50cc gy6 scoot' the jets come with the carb but if you want a different number jet (bigger), you have to order that separately

Thank You carasdad! I tried to, but I don't think it worked! When ordering, I sent the following note:
"Thank you! Please send with a #80 jet. This is for my Taotao 50,and it needs a # 80 jet for high-altitude, Denver. Thanks!" However, I got the following response after receiving an invoice that it was already shipped: "Sir, The carburetor you ordered comes with a 85 main jet. Midwest Motorsports" I really don't know, I thought it came with a #90 jet, and I guess they won't send with an #80 jet.. I don't know what any of this means, so I hope the #85 works!

Luked you will need a #80 to #95 jet at the extreme high-altitude that Denver is.
A #85 will probbaly work just fine. I HIGHLY recommend you purchase this:http://www.amazon.com/Chinese-Taiwan...scooter+manual Then READ IT. Study it. Read it from cover to cover. This is based on tear-downs of gy6 bikes, so it's written in a very user-friendly way.
