Compeller/Magnum Early Rear End Tear Down
I tore down a center section of a compeller rear diff ( early magnums are the same) and took pictures of it disassembled. This week, as time permits, I hope to reassemble it and take pictures as I do it and will post a tutorial.
In the mean time here is what I got so far. ![]() I left the bearings in the main housings. ![]() Axel Drive Gear Assembly ![]() Reverse/Forward Shifting Fork ![]() Reverse/Forward Shifting Fork Disassembled ![]() The fork removed from the rod. This shows the check ball in place. The rod has a slot cut into it where this ball ( and spring below it) rides on the shaft. ![]() Reverse/Forward Gear Assembly ![]() Drive Gear ![]() Shift Rod Along with the Lever is what moves the fork from forward to reverse. ![]() Side Case Notice the shim to the left of the case. This shim keeps the bearing in the proper position ![]() Side Case Notice the shims to the right of the case. These shims keeps the bearings in the proper position.
