I was always told that the manufacturer uses a "break-in" oil in both the motor and reduction/gear box and to change them at 600 miles. Not sure how true that statement is but I've always stuck by it. Also noticed every new scooter I've ever owned the factory "break-in" oil had a strange color tint to it. This was in new Genuine (Buddy 125), Yamaha (Zuma 125), Suzuki (Burgman 200) and my Piaggio (Liberty 150). Also my friends Lance (Cabo 200i).
