Here's what the problem was with CF Moto in the 2006-2009 period. The price of gas rose and CF Moto couldn't keep up with demand for scooters. They began to subcontract work out for parts and components. As you would expect with the Chinese then, bad parts slipped through into production. My clutch shaft snapped at the top of the taper the clutch is mounted on. According to Jack Ryan, The Scooter Professor, it was because whoever did the Lathe work created a hot spot at that point which weakened the metal even after hardening. It happened to many CF Moto 250s.
