You don't have to run motorcycle specific oil, because your engine does not share a clutch assembly with the engine oil. Motorcycle oil uses different additives to prevent clutch slippage. Won't hurt anything if you do, but regular automotive oil is fine. Switch to synthetic around 1000 miles. Give the motor a good break-in with conventional oil first. Oil brands are very subjective. I use whatever Piaggio recommends for my Liberty. The change intervals are 3000 miles. On most China scooters people seem to change the oil earlier, 1000 to 1500 miles. Curious to what others suggest. I always forget about the reduction box oil, so it usually gets change whenever I remember, around 5000 to 10,000 miles. Another important thing is check the valves. Mine is every 6000 miles now. First check was at 600 because it was new. Some people do their valve checks more often. Not hard at all with You Tube videos. Also check the tire pressure weekly. Finally, enjoy your new bike!
