Makes no sense indeed. Even on the road, your bike will probably never reach 8k rpm.
Although a true rev unlimited CDI could get your engine going 11k RPM and up (until it explodes, lol)...

However, on the road, with wind resistance, and friction, your engine will never rev higher than 8k RPM, unless if you have a lower geared 2 stroke engine, those sometimes can reach 10k RPM.
