o the spec ops compounds, home bases, had lots of therapy available
for the guys, but back then, that was consider weak.
especially if they wanted to stay Berets

Sad but so very true! Not every OP is known or televised...we did brief OPS...that if under 30 days there was no combat pay...and short Special OPS are not reflected on your DD214..so the VA does not acknowledge them. Many units are used briefly as you say in El Salvador..Columbia..Ecuador etc... to deter drug Cartel. It will not show on your DD214...so you get zero....zip...nada..
