Read somewhere that using 2 stroke oil or Mystery oil (1oz) in every gallon of fuel is good for ensuring proper lubrication to the piston/cylinder 4 stroke engines gy6 especially for bbk upgrades. ...

If it's stock...change the coil & CDI...mine and my sons used to do the same, $30 bucks was fixed and running. Otherwise, ruled out other possibilities first.
