Exhaust/Muffler Options
Well, I got my '07 Roketa MC-30-150 up and running. I've not GPS measured it but on a flat road it seems like it can haul my fat rear-end (270lbs.) up to about 50-55mph @6,500RPM. =)
I had an issue with the exhaust pipe not staying on the bottom of the block and, long story short, while I think I've fixed that, the bracket welded on the muffler that holds it in place right in front of the rear wheel broke off. It looks like a new muffler may cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 - WAY too much. I've been trying to MacGyver something but my metal-working skills (and access to tools) haven't been very successful. Anybody have any ideas? Are the other after-market (read: less expensive) alternatives that will pretty readily fit? Is there a "Macgyver" method that folks have used in the past? |
Can you post a pic of it.
Some people are better Macgyvers when they can see the problem. |
Hi
These work well , are quite inexpensive and have a good tone http://www.ebay.com/itm/150cc-GY6-Sc...202#vi-content Take care and ride safely my friend Yours hank |
Sometimes you can buy a muffler mount separately, or perhaps tie them up with other means like steel wire, momentarily.

Thanks for the feedback!
scooterwayne - I'll post some pics tonight. I thought I had it figured it out, but I'm off about the width of 2 quarters (where the pipe connects to the exhaust "manifold" up under the engine). prodigit - The bracket itself was welded on the muffler. I have another idea that I might try, I just want to make sure that the muffler's being supported well enough so as to not cause any torque on the pipe where it connects to the manifold/engine since issues with the bolts/holes there would be way more difficult to fix. inuyasha - I saw those as well, are they pretty much universal with regard to fit? |
I would ask the seller, if its the correct one/fit for your scoot. :)

What I meant was are exhaust pipes/mufflers somewhat universally compatible as are parts for the GY6 motor itself? ;) |
Hi
Yes the exhausts are for the most part universal but some might take a bit of tweaking for a proper fit depending on the scoot on question Take care and ride safely my friend Yours Hank |
Fixed!
After spending hours cutting and drilling thick steel (breaking several drill bits, Dremel pieces and suffering a myriad of metal "slivers"), not to mention about $40 in materials at Menard's I think I got 'er fixed. It took a $4 piece of pipe strap, one easy cut, one drilled hole and less than an hour. LOL! Win some, lose some it would seem. ;o) |
theres only one solution hehe
