Silly list prices!

I gotta ask: where in the world do these online dealers get their "list" prices? Even the esteemed sponsors have these crazy numbers, then magically mark them down 50-60% for the "sale" price (aka standard going rate). It's one of the things that makes online dealers seem so shady, IMO. When's the last time Honda or Kawasaki had a half price blowout? Would anyone really believe a 250cc no-name Chinese scooter costs the same or more than a new Ninja 250? That's almost insulting. :lmao: I'd be much more likely to do business with a dealer that just gave me a straightforward, honest price.

True, indeed, but they must get enough newbees spending their money and thinking that they are getting a great deal to justify the practice. Also, I think some companies use those numbers to inflate their inventory value on the books.

Keep in mind that a Lance PCH 150 is about $2400 from a dealer. The same online version from Znen might be around $1200 so those crazy MSRP prices might come true some day.
