170cc BBK install QMJ157
Greetings "dawgs" new to the site like the layout.
I've got an 2012 Chinese 150cc sunny sport scooter just got all the bugs worked out of it a few months ago has 5k. I want alittle more power out of it. here is a list of the mods I already have UNI foam filter 115/40 main jet, pilot jet YMS V8 no baffle stainless exhaust ZHEN type 2 variator, Dr.pully 12gram sliders fancy chrome CVT cover The 170 BBk is still in the mail it comes with the whole top-end along with an high lift A9 camshaft 94$ Ebay. It's snowing outside figured now is the best time to tear it on down, I'm not going to remove the engine, pulled some plastics off under the front of the seat I have plenty of room there. I did the same on my neighbors QMB-139 the other day he bought a 50-100cc BBK of Ebay for 54$ shipped! it came with everything as well, and some. Took no time to install 2hrs at most, this QMJ-157 should be a piece of cake as long as I don't have to bore the cases. Can someone please show me how to post pics in posts. |
Wideopen, Welcome to SD.

Torn down, I have been using 10w-40 mobil 1 oil full synthetic I need to use SAE oil for the rings to breakin. Is it ok to go back to conventional oil after you been using full synthetic?

Now I only use Rotella-T 15-40w. |
Turns out I had to have the cases milled, took the engine out and disassembled to bare castings. Block is now at the machine shop being bored by a professional didn't want to screw it up with a my lack of tools. milling should be done by tomorrow, than wait for the gasket set in the mail from partsforscooters.com

i thought there were no upgrades for the 150cc scoots without changing the body?
|
So how did they upgrade go?? I'm Tryna install a ncy 61mm bolt on kit. What's your top speeed

I was at my scooter dealers shop and he put on a 63mm BBK without having to bore out the case like most need . I think he said it had ether the GY6 B or your engine as they have a thicker block he said . Since you have it apart and if you have the cabbage I would replace the stock crank as the bearings are weak for a BBK or even a stroker crank . Walter has everything you could ever need for a 150 as that is all he sells parts for http://www.scooterelements.ecrater.c.../engine?&srn=2
