Safety Above All Else
I lost a close friend due to a cycling accident right around Thanksgiving. I just want to put a word out there to everyone to please remember safety above all else. The thrill of the ride is not worth the pain left behind if tragedy happens.

So sorry to hear about your loss!
I agree with you 100% though! |
Well said. We have to think about what happens to the rest of the family if we get disabled or killed in an accident.
When I lived in Arizona, they would hang Ghost Bikes on the fence at the site where a bicyclist died in an accident. The Ghost Bike was simply a bicycle painted all white. I saw many of them while training for the MS150. |
Hi
You have my sincere condolences on the loss of your friend The day God called you home God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, he closed your tired eyes, He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide, You live on through your children, you're always by our side. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home. ~Author Unknown Take care and ride safely Yours Hank |
Dusty, I lost a friend a few years ago so I know what you are feeling right now. One can not stress safety enough, especially on a bike or scooter. You have to ride offensively and defensively all the time when you are riding.

I know that there are many of us who have experienced the loss of someone close to us through a motorcycle/scooter accident. Ricky T, you are right. We have to watch out not only for ourselves but, especially for others,, when we are on our bikes.

Unfortunately that is the risk we run every time we ride, and even more so in today's driver distracting, electronic gadget filled world.
