Into the colder months we go!
Now that fall has officially arrived, I'm curious to know how you handle the cooler weather and other issues that it brings.

In FL it means that my 50cc scooter will run even the faster.
If you don't change nothing, the drop in temps actually will do nothing to it; because the increase in engine performance will be compensated by the drag the flatter tires bring. So winter time means 'pump the tires'-time. Once that's done, it'll go 48MPH. |
I sit next to the pellet stove and make scooter engine sounds. :hehe:

Hi
I have appropriate gear for the winter months and just bundle up I love riding in the brisk weather Take care and ride safely Yours hank |
Well one obvious thing besides better insulated gear, a tall windshield. A tall windshield makes perhaps as big a difference as the gear itself.
On my sportbikes I used to need much heavier jackets, layering and windproof waterproof gauntlet gloves to go riding up into the California mountainside during winters when it's not snowed out. On my NC700x with a big windshield that's reduced to just plain leather gauntlets and a normal leather jacket with a sweater inside. Big Big difference in warmth with the windshield. On a scooter with a windshield and leg shielding too boy I can ride when it's 25 degrees out rather comfortably. |
I just bought myself some nice insulated waterproof gloves and busted out the insulated Gore-TEX jacket. I'm considering a windshield though, I think that would make a big difference on those cold rainy days.

I'm more worried about my scoot. I ride all winter and it did a job on my Tomos Nitro. I'm wondering if anyone has used anti corrosion spray on their scoot. I'm planning on using my Kymco this winter.

I used corrosion x, in the rainy season that product stays on the exhaust for just 6 weeks before it starts rusting again.
Corrosion X is weak against a base, so you need to re-apply after every washing with soap. Sometimes warm/hot water could also dissolve Corrosion X. |
Houndguy, Its Jan. 3rd. I put on my insulated carhart coveralls, my Millwalkie heated jacket, and my leather gloves with wool liners and rode a nice 50 mile ride after work today. It was great. Jeff

http://www.2smallerwheels.blogspot.c...s-its-own.html http://i.imgur.com/5Xf4i1P.png I've felt like this before while riding, LOL. |
I don't think that MOST of you people realise what riding in the cold is! Try riding all year round in N.H. as I used to do! This Florida heat is killing me. They say that your body gets used to it. I certainly hope so. It does seem weird to ride in December & be warm!:yay: Irish
