Issue stopping for fuel hard restart fixed?

I changed out the spark plug today and what a difference!! it runs much better. I changed my original spark plug that was in my scooter it was an NGK that came out and a new NGK that went back in. The one that came out kind of looked cocoa brown. I had a small issue the new spark plug fell in the housing. ( oh well ) But we got it out and got it all done.

Also, I noticed a HUGE difference on how the scooter starts and responds to the throttle now since I changed the plug. The scooter starts within a second when you use the electric start whereas before it would be a few seconds before it started.

Also when you give it throttle it really scoots along. I took it on a 20-mile ride tonight and it rode extremely well. And easily climbed to 42 MPH although, I didn't go that fast long I am careful not to go all out with the throttle and I don't go full out throttle for miles. I accelerate and move along at a steady pace I don't abuse the scooter. I also don't baby it either.

My scooter had 800 miles when I changed out the spark plug. Also, it that coco brown look at the end normal wear ? or a carb that needs adjusting??

also, I stopped for fuel ( took a chance) as I have had the issue where it was hard to restart but tonight it started right up instantly! Could the spark plug have been the issue?
It usually started well but instead of taking a few tries especially when its cold or sat overnight, It now starts 1st try and much quicker.

It runs now like it did when it was new

It very well could have been the spark plug but it might very well could have been how the spark plug cap was sitting on the plug.

Fuel and starting issue may have found out why

Check the old plug gap compared to what you gapped the new one to

The gas we get is intended for cars with oxygen sensors and automatically corrected fuel injection. So we have to deal with what we get. Depending on your driving habits you can make some adjustments with spark plug heat range. If a new plug solved your problem then I'd say the old plug was the problem. Here ya go, if you have future problems read the plugs .. or plug in our case. http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/reading-...lug-color.html

30 Mile Trip

update: I took the scooter out today for a 30-mile ride. I had not used it for 3 days. When I decided to go today it started right up 1st try. It definitely rides a lot better than it did before I changed that spark plug.

I stopped at a park for about 20 minutes, and when I started the scooter it started right up. I also notice it accelerates much better now and gets to 40 mph quickly and its throttle response is much better and has not felt this good since I got it new last year.

I did not need fuel today, but as I mentioned before, I did fill the tank at the gas station last week and that hard start issue did not happen this last fill up. It started right away. Since spark plugs are so cheap I think every 500 miles or so I will change it. My plug cost $2.05. What a difference it seemed to make.
