Members Ages?

I think that it would be an interesting idea to compile a list of the members ages. I have an idea that a lot of members are older than thought (example---I'm 71):tup: Irish:scoot::nuts:

I guess no one wants to admit that they are getting older!:ugh: Irish:scoot::nuts:

rks 11-23-2015 07:45 AM

They used to say "you're not getting older...you're getting better"......don't know if I totally agree with that, as I will be 68 in another week.

Ages!

I guess RKS & I are the only ones that aren't afraid to admit our ages. Maybe no one is interested. That's another possibility!:hmm::shrug: Irish:scoot::nuts:

75. What of it?

Per the calendar, I am 65+. But my physical and mental capabilities are that of someone far younger than that.

Recently I was exposed to a situation where I was around a group where people in their early 40s were exhibiting symptoms of extreme old age. Meaning they had a hard time getting up, and moving and had difficulty thinking clearly.

Some of the younger ones, 20 - 30 YOs, thought I was in my 40s. It might have been because of my "Grass Drill" exercising and how I think, move and speak.

There were two particular men in the group that flanked my calendar age, and both IMO had seen their best years already pass them by. So I guess what I am saying is that calendar age means nothing to me.

Young mutt.

I will be 24, next week.:scoot:

Gene563 02-29-2016 06:50 PM

52 here.

ForCom5 02-29-2016 11:45 PM

I 'spose I may as well throw down for my age group.

Twenty for a few more weeks. Twenty-one on the 30th, although. Nothing exciting planned, but on a personal achievement note, I'll be completely personal debt free after a nasty brush with a laundry list of un-fun medical issues and using up all that sweet credit card availability. Pro-tip, avoid almost dying...it's quite expensive.

Just in time to quit my full-time job and go back to school full-time!

When I was 20 , I was in my 3rd yr of enlistment! I graduated High School at 17 & enlisted a few mo. later. VN was just getting started & I thought that it would be cool to enlist. Stupid Kids!:shrug: Irish:scoot::nuts:

73 here still riding

Scooting Scotsman 06-10-2016 11:22 AM

61, just got into scooters because I had to give up motorbikes. Arthritis in my knees and hips makes it too painful to throw my leg over a motorbike and sit there- a legacy of 15 years as a coal miner. I'm just happy to still be up on 2 wheels!

Oldgunner 01-02-2017 12:16 PM

Just starting to ride, turned 80 last fall. From one Scotsman (family 300 years removed) to another..I hear you with the arthritic leg..that's why I started with a scooter..

Roscoe 01-02-2017 03:01 PM

This many (holds up 68 fingers).

Irish 01-23-2017 12:05 PM

It must be hard to pick things up with all of those fingers! It's probably GREAT for picking your nose tho. Irish

DisillusionedPrepper 01-23-2017 05:10 PM

58 in a couple months. So I guess I'm 57-5/6ths...

I've noticed on several scooter forums that there is a void in the 25-45 year old age bracket. Maybe that's the time where we are all doing the most sensible things in our lives.

Like most of you older fellas I enjoy riding scoots because of all the bodily strain motorcycle riding has caused but in reality, I am ready for a proper motorcycle again. The day I can't get off one is the day I'll stop riding. :scoot:

flyangler 01-26-2017 04:02 PM

Will be 69 on the 31st and back on a bike for the first time in over ten years, still have a scooter an sh150, but looking forward to riding a new to me suzuki s50 blvd, what used to be called the Intruder. the only concession to age and infirmity will be a EFM clutch so I won't have to use the clutch lever.

Irish 03-03-2017 10:45 AM

73 as of the 27th of Feb.:yay::clap: Irish:scoot::nuts:

Reggie 11-30-2017 04:24 PM

I am 74, will be 75 in Feb. Got a 67 Electra-Glide FL and a 87 Gold Wing. Ride my 400 Majestry most of the time because hard to throw leg over seat. Ride big bikes when going a long way so I don't have to get on an off much. Ride scoot around town for small stuff. Now live in a small city, one red light and loving it.
