Tao Tao 50 engine upgrade
I am looking to upgrade a Tao Tao 50. I am not sure what size to go with. I see a lot of 70cc upgrades. And over course I have that Tim Allen mentality of why not go as big as I can.
I am looking for best bang for the buck. Any recommendations or statements of experience would be appreciated. Thanks all. |
im doing the same thing and from these threads there is a lot of problems over 70cc.i asked the mechanic here and he said the 90 and 100 cc don't hold up

Which lends itself to the question, what does increasing your displacement by 45% do to your fuel economy? I have had 500-1000cc motorcycles and I know what kind of economy to expect from them, but they perform differently than scooters. Thanks for the advice. |
You're asking alot? 60 mph with the small tires and for it to hold together long term?

I would go with the 50mm bore 69mm valve or some people go with the big valve head. Im running 69mm valve head 22mm carb. Check out my thread

No. A 70cc gy6 engine will probably NOT get you to 60mph, it might hit about 50mph, but even that's pushing the bounds of reality, as a stock gy6 150cc only goes about 50mph.
Speeds must be GPS VERIFIED to be claimed, as the speedometers of these scooters are highly inaccurate. |
