Cool pic!
Looks like you have a serious sound system in that garage too! :D Glad to see you'll be riding again soon. |
Thanks Mike!
Yeah.. I have ummm... 2 15's, 4 12's and lots of mids and 4 tweeters... it gets loud :s lol I pray it runs soon... because I STILL plan to do a wheelie vid proving YOSEMITE from SD(prboards) wrong. |
Im very depressed to say that I had to rig my tail light to work for the time being lol
Until I save some money for a nice L.E.D. this will have to do. My DAMN fender doesnt line up straight, making everything else look off. I think I may get very angry and rip it off and destroy it. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psa7a4f5b6.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psf00bae91.jpg |
FINALLY got her back running and took her for a little ride today!!

Also made some videos today for the non believers of SD.COM (YOSEMITE&EDFR). Will be posted as soon as my buddy uploads them!! Vid of wheelies not top speed... anyone with even the smallest amount of scoot knowledge should not argue this scoot should be able to go 60 easily :scoot:

Cool picture.
Looking forward to the videos. :) |
Wow I CANNOT catch a break with this scoot!!!
Now my main bearings are about to let go so im having to replace the engine and port the new head and have it shaved as well. Also new rings to go in. I think I will run an oil cooler this time around. Oh and also my motor mount is literally ripping in half >: Pics http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps123d1990.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps1bdfd259.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps5b02d7d9.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps73a05422.jpg |
Dayuummnn, that sucks! Sorry to hear.
Back to the drawing board! |
Tearing down and rebuilding motor. Almost ready to go back together..
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps66717de5.jpg |
So today I put the engine back together. Installed the valves & had the head milled .090". I have to re-do my exhaust with this "P" head because the flange is clocked differently.
I rehoned the cylinder and gapped my rings to .009" for street use. Lapped my valves and took a straight edge to the cylinder to make sure it is proper. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps07e0ca10.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psd834c52e.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps48923daa.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps70ca296a.jpg I love how clean this engine is inside. It looks like it doesnt even have any miles on it. I pray that this one will last! |
I will pray with you... Nice work
|
Thanks Rob!!
Here some pics from tonight. I got my motor mount all ground down and ready to reinforce aka weld. Also secured my plastics a little bit better. All the wheelies seemed to break just about every tab that held the nose on lol http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psd557db5a.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps8b1cf939.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psd97a9698.jpg and my helper with her safety glasses on http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psf74e029e.jpg |
Hmm.. I think one whole person follows my build... nice lol
Anyways time for sum updates. I reinforced the motor mount last night with metal from a leaf spring. I sure hope this metal does not tear. I made sure to tie it into both the motormount itself as well as the frame. Also relocated my muffler, as it use to scrape if I leaned too low before, and the flange on this "P" head is clocked differently. I still dont know if I like the outcome or not. I kinda rushed it because it was getting late and said F it and welded it together!! Excuse my ugly welds http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps2d9c769a.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps91b2e6e0.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psfde24060.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps0b99e8b3.jpg And my "cowl hood" that im working on installing lol http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psfb845164.jpg |
Looks good, hopefully it all holds up.
Love that hood! |
Thanks Mike... I hope so too!! I had the heat turned up pretty high when I was welding this time :s lol

Keep up the good work. Does it get lights?? |
Hi
Ive been following and must say you do marvelous work Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank |
Yep I must admit, I generally read more than post, but do when I feel the need. Don't worry, MANY are watching and following. ;)
|
Thanks a lot guys, you are the best!!
And rob there is already a headlight and tail light. The black peice on the front blocks the headlight so its only run in the day time until I figure something out. Im hopefully going to be breaking this engine in later on tonight if everything goes right. I noticed when I drained the oil that it was that thick weird smelly break in oil that they ship with the new motors, and it was very clean, so I doubt this motor has barely any miles on it. The rollers also look brand new and the drive faces have absolutely no wear on them : ) |
YES!! I got the scoot running tonight & broke the rings in! :yay:
Its quieter than the other engine...maybe because the muffler is mounted further back but the engine itself is also very quiet with no ticking or knocking whatsoever. Here is a pic of the variator that come off that engine... http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps8ba45ba5.jpg |
Congrats!

A few pics since ive had it back together and breaking the new engine in

Lookin' good! :)
|
I like the plastic (or what's left of it) on that little scoot
|
Yeah theres not much left to it lol I have a peice that covers the front but it falls off. Im going to find a way to secure it. Hopefully itll look a little better! Thanks guys

Finally made a video. My buddy isnt wanting to upload those other videos we took, so me and my other buddy took a vid with MY phone this time. The wheelie could have went longer, but I dont like pushing that hard because it likes to basically flip on me after a certain point(no rear brake to control) LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMlU82FXYmk |
Nice lil wheelie!
|
Thanks Mike!
Heres another pic from the Hood lol http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps0cd7f618.jpg |
|
So im wanting my scoot to launch harder... ALOT harder.
I think I may start with 10g rollers. I have a mix of 9.8/12.8 right now. If that doesnt satisfy me then I may play around with the 3 little springs in the rear clutch assembly. Preferably the blue 1000 ones.... |
Been workin on the scoot a little bit today. Gave her a much needed bath!
I also took apart the transmisson. I cleaned and lubed the rollers & variator assembly.I put my old modded variator face on from the old motor(modified for better take off as well as more top end. The faces will let the belt ride lower for take off and also squeeze together tighter for higher top speed). I also took the rear apart to clean out the junk chinese grease in the bearing and put nice stuff in. Sanded the clutch pads in hopes that they will bite more and also sanded inside the clutch housing, where the pads ride. I changed my oil and am now running fully synthetic 10w40 and running fully synthetic 70w90 in the rearend. She should fly now!! :s |
Probably did some stuff that I should not have today...but hey it was raining !! lol
I modded my trans some more. I removed some material from the fan , making it thinner like the race fans. Also drilled a few holes in the clutch bell where the pads ride. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps4c5c59a3.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psc85c78bf.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psee64345f.jpg(left stock) |
It was a spare clutch bell , so if it makes it worse somehow, I can always go back
|
Took her up the road to see if there was any difference. Its hard to tell. It takes off harder thats for sure but top speed is questionable. It doesnt help that its cold and windy & I wore my helmet which I usually dont wear on my scoot.
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps4f7126d6.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps09b50d69.jpg Getting low on petrol... $1.50 fix  http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps370ab879.jpg |
Went to install a shorty axle today...just to realize it is a 50cc one.
It is made differently but I still made it work for now. I had to modify one of the gears for everything to fit right and turn without any binding. I still need a stator so I have not been able to take it up the road to test but it does spin freely and quietly. Stock gear on 50cc axle http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps8735fb8a.jpg Modified gear on 50cc axle http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps7b6fe4a1.jpg This is what the inside looked like when I first pulled the cover off http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psc7da6e29.jpg |
Whats up everybody!!
Time for yet another update ! I am in the process of replacing my POS 24mm CHINESE contraption of a carb for a Japanese Keihin 30mm. While doing this I am making sure all the ports match/line up, because last time I did not pay attention to how they lined up, and it wasnt very pretty. So I modified my intake spacers(running two with this carb) and I had to remove quite a bit material from the intake manifold(to match it to the new carb) that I had already ported rather heavily. What im using is a used carb but it is like new on the inside and it came off a running scoot, so it should work nicely! Pics 24mm vs 30mm http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psa365f2a8.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psf9f67b18.jpg Porting the manifold and spacers to more closely match the carb http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps0e720a0b.jpg How the spacer matches (not perfect...but its a scooter !! lol) http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psa61c4acf.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...psdbc257bb.jpg Feel free to comment or make suggestions ...
