Replacement time.

So my Burgman 200 is dying. It has to many things going wrong for me to fix it. Time for a replacement. Going down in cc's because the wife and I no longer ride on 2 wheels very far anymore. Either to hot, cold or far. This is my list of replacements so far:
1) Zuma 125. Current model. My first gen one had a wire loom issue that Yamaha would not stand behind.
2) Honda PCX. 2019 model. I like Honda's.
3) Lance PCH or Cabo 200i. Is Alliance still the importer? Parts issues?
4) KYMCO Agility 125 or a Super 8 150.
5) Piaggio Liberty 150. I dont trust the serving dealer, so that is a serious factor. I like big wheel scooters though.
6) Genuine Buddy 125 or a Hooligan. My Buddy's always had rear rack failures and Hooligans have flimsy windshield mounts. Make GREAT quality scooters though, just lousy accessories. Any opinions welcome or brands I may have missed.

Your Burgman 200 is dying? Wow. Anyway, yes Mike Hickman is still the importers for Lance. The 200i series is garnering seriously good reviews. After that I like the Liberty 150 despite sketchy dealers.

Give you the quick rundown of "dying":
It has just under 26,000miles. Purchased new in Feb. 2015.
Fuel leak. Can barely see were its leaking but it always smells of gas. Yuck!
Oil leak. Just started to drip on the ground. Comes from top of motor.
Anti-freeze smell. Nothing spotted yet but I have to top up the coolant now.
Front rotor outta spec. I hate those butter bolts for rotors!
Rear tire will not pass inspection.
Seat seams are starting to split.
Thing is a PITA to take the panels off! The service manual SUCKS!

Was going to replace it around 30,000miles anyways as wife and I dont ride over 50 miles one way and want to downsize, but all these leaks at one time is to much. So Im just going to give it a good bath and donate it to a thrift store unless my friend wants to do the repairs. He can have it for free.

My friend has a Cabo 200i and its a great scooter! I love riding it when the chance arises. I had a CityCom once, and the parts supply issue was horrible. But the Lance brand seems to be supported and I trust the dealer if needed for service and such.

I like big wheel scoots-and I cannot lie! Sorry, could not help a Mix-A-Lot reference! The Liberty 150 has got good reviews but I dont trust the dealer. They messed my Buddy 125 up, and even though they offered to make it right, it shows they never test rode it after the repair. A friend got screwed by them also.

Even though I prefer new, a nice Honda SH150 would be a great find.

I would do the Cabo or PCH then. I can't believe the Suzuki let you down so badly. The Super 8 is a good choice too but the 200i series is not a bad choice.

My friend that has the Cabo 200i bought it new and hates the ergos!? I dont think he has ridden it enough to get used to it myself. He's a merchant marine and is NEVER home. I might see if I can borrow it again and if the wife and I fit it, I may make him a offer on it! But Im gonna go look around with the wife and sit our bottoms on some seats. The KYMCO dealer will let us take 'em for a test ride! I think the Lance dealer will do the same. And its not that the Suzuki let me down per say, just started to fall apart a little earlier than expected. To much went wrong at one time.

In my mind 26,000 should be the end of break in on a Suzuki. For example, my Scion iA car is just approaching 26,000 miles and runs like new. There shouldn't be a separate reality for bikes and cars. I had a bike from 1979 that lasted 125,000 miles before I sold it.

The Suzuki let you down.

Battle plan update: Im putting the Burgman on the lift in the garage and see if I cant revive it. I have a 50cc Buddy to ride (that I purchased for a friend) that I can ride for now. Then, if the friend comes and gets the Buddy, and the Burgman is still in limbo, I have a Zuma bug-eye I can get for $400. Hopefully, everything will work out on the Burgman. I just need to keep my temper in check. Burgman is a beast to work on and the service manual does not help!

Your experience with the Burgy has me thinking twice about getting a 200 class scooter. Perhaps we push the 200 scoots too hard as we attempt to keep up with highway traffic. Sounds like I may be better off with a heavier 250 or 300 scooter.

The reason I ended up with the Burgman 200 was it fits the wife and I very well and she can touch the flat floor with no issues. Its very light and easy to get on and off of. We rarely ever go on the interstate anymore, so the speed is not really an issue. But, if needed it hauls our fat butts up to 70mph. I was tempted to get a Yamaha Xmax but we also have a Honda Silverwing for any speed runs, hence the reason for a downsize next. So Im gonna shove the Burgman in the garage this weekend and get started on it. Despite its issues it really is a nice riding scooter.

I'm just surprised that a $5000 Suzuki is giving you any trouble at all. I know we're talking apples and oranges but there are any number of 300cc bikes at that price. Glad you have the Silver Wing but it's disheartening that a major manufacture isn't building a bullet proof product at such a price point.

While you are being patient many people would either walk away from two wheels or switch to bikes. Sales of scooters above 50cc are crumbling. Things like this don't help.

The poor Burgman is still sitting in the street. I finally got the pink 09 Genuine Buddy 50cc that I've been riding (yes, a pink Buddy) to its new owner so you would think I'm gonna start work on the Burgman. Nope! A friend offered up a 2003 Yamaha Zuma for me to use. He needs the space and I need something to get to work with. My 98 Zuma does not get ridden in the rain, and because its all stock, its nowhere as fast as the 03 Zuma. I found myself rubbing up on a new Genuine Rough House scooter, the balloon tire version, but I really need to get the Burgman in the garage. I hate working on Burgmans!
