I am new here, and I am basically recommissioning a scooter I bought new back in 2012. I rode it a lot for about 8-10 months and things began going wrong with it. The speedometer and odometer quit working, the rear tire developed a slow leak, and I left it out in the rain uncovered all of the time. After a while, my Wife bought me a cover for it and my riding just eventually decreased to almost never riding.
It sat covered for about 16-18 months, and I recently put some time and effort into it. Finally, with help from my new friend, bull, who lives close by, the scooter is now back on the road. I am posting a photo of my baby for you to see, and I plan to do some work in the near future and log it here.

I am open to comments and suggestions.

Thanks everybody!

Great to see your scoot is back on the road. Have you de-restricted your scoot?. That should add 5mph or more to your top speed.

Here is a link about de-restricting your scooter. There is initially a lot of background info about restrictions, but there is a great how-to further down the page.

I am very interested in adding 5 mph to my top speed!

My next consideration is a new CDI, as they seem to be relatively cheap. Any recommendations?

I am also very interested in adjusting my ignition timing, using a method that bull shared with me.

For now, my scoot is running very well, and I just today added my mobile entertainment system (rechargeable Bluetooth speaker and cell phone mount)

I'm trying to run through my tank of Lucas Oil-treated fuel, then I'm going to change the oil and fill up with straight 93 octane fuel. Later this month will be when I decide what to do next mechanically.

Yes. An aftermarket CDI will remove the rev limiter of your stock CDI and should have a more aggressive spark advance.
Many scoot owners have added accessories like exhaust and intake to increase rpm but forget to upgrade the CDI. Most scoots will not rev higher without a hp CDI.
Scrappydawg should have a good high performance CDI for your scoot.
Remember to de-restrict the CVT or you will not gain any top speed.
