I'm gonna give you as much information as I can...I have a
Genson 150cc scooter...now everyone says that the valve gap is .04 on the intake and .05 on the exhaust...well I finally got a set of feeler gages that had both .04 and .05 and I adjusted the valves...well here is where the problem lies, since doing the adjustment it seems like it's flooding out...it seems to run fine at higher speeds but at idle and take off from a stop it sputters and doesn't want to go I have to make it...now the identification plate says valve gap .06-.08 but doesn't indicate intake or exhaust...I've had it gapped as close to .06 as I could before and I start getting a tapping...This flooding problem or whatever it is didn't start until I set the gaps at .04 and .05...should I go with what the tag says...any help would be appreciated

Hey Pandemic,
The valve gap is supposed to be .004 and .005. inches
Don't know if you did that as a typo or your valves are really loose now. Check your feeler gauge, they usually have MM on them as well. You want the other number. If you adjusted your valves to 0.04 and .05, they would be chattery and explain why it won't run correctly. The valves won't open enough to let fuel in/exhaust out.

Anyone else feel free to chime in if I'm wrong ! : )
Happy New Year!

The .004 and .005 is inches correct what would that be exactly in mm...and actually at .04 and .05 I can't hear any noticeable chatter...and just one more question for the next hour or so...lol...what is the torque specs for the rear axle nut (the one that holds the wheel on) be

.004 in.=0.1016 mm
.005 in.=0.127 mm

The .06 to .08 are mm. measurements for a 50cc scooter and translate to .0024 to .0032 inches which is too tight for a 150cc.
