Did you get a title with it, or whatever papers you need in your state? I'd get it running, and go from there. If you've go no title I'd sell it as a parts bike or part it out.

For sixty bucks? Fix it. If it has spark but won't run the carburetor might be cruddy. Spray starter fluid into the carb and see if it kicks.

Why would you buy a new engine, when the one you have has under 1000 miles on it? You might find that a few dollars, and a few hours of tinkering is all it needs. You may even enjoy the time spent tinkering (I do). If you don't have the time, or the desire...sell it, and get back to your car (I noticed the wheels in the background)

$60 for a scoot with a title is definitely a deal.
I would definitely try to get it running before deciding on selling or keeping.
A running scooter, even running crappy, will fetch more money.
If you get it running and decide to keep it, you will feel better about investing in some
new parts where needed.
I wouldn't try a new engine unless it absolutely won;t start or you discover some structural problems with it.

got all the new parts. now when you start it, solenoid just clicks. fig battery was low so i tried kicking it, kick starter wont move. its almost like the engine is locked up. was gonna take plug out tom and put some penetrating oil in it overnight and see whats up. anyone have this happen b4?

Did you try to spin the engine with the fan? In the center is a 14mm hex head that takes a socket. If it won't spin with that, all the carb tuning and penetrating oil in the world won't help.

This is just something to think about! This happened in NH & Maine. A buddy & I stopped by a friends that had a Farm. This was in my drinking days. He knew that I had been to the Triumph Factory School. He said that when VN ended , he bought a NEW Triumph. After a few hundred mi , it quit on him going to work one morning. He checked inside & found some metal fragments! He pulled the eng. & never checked it again. He asked if I wanted to buy it as it had been sitting in his barn. I told him that I didn't want to insult him , but I really didn't need it! I built Bikes part-time out of my garage. The bike was a '70 & I remembered that some '70s had soft rings & the co. would warranty new rings & a rebore. I gave him $25 & threw the eng. in my car. To make a long story short , I rebuilt the whole bike , painted it & sold it for $1800. Moral: Sometimes it's worth , spending a little time! Irish:yay:
P.S. I had to invest in a new wristpin , main bearings & some time!

On 12/21 you posted that it was spinning over good, but would not fire. Now you think it is locked up.
I don't know all of what you've done to your scooter, but I'd sooner think that it is something less than internal engine problems. How about your kick starter gears. Have you had the cvt cover off, and got them misaligned?

Not related to your current problem, but have you checked under the valve cover yet?

yes that is correct it was turning nicely .... i took off the old carb it sit for a week or 2 then after i put the new carb on (which was the only thing touched) motor wont turn at all. like its froze up. electric start only clicks and when trying to kick it , the kick starter refuses to budge at all
