I was riding home today and I noticed my scooter got super loud but I was almost home, I get home and notice that the exhaust header ( I think that's what its called, not sure) had broken off from where it connects to the engine:no:. I have no idea how it happened but Im going to just order a whole new exhaust, I have been wanting a new chrome one. I was just wondering do these come in different sizes for 150cc gy6 scooters or what? My scooter is a 2013 Jonway yy150t-21. Any help would be appreciated. http://imgur.com/bzoS01h http://imgur.com/zhx2ssk http://imgur.com/iwOLQ0o

You need the two piece system. Scroll down to the GY6 pipes.

Ok thank you. I was thinking last night and I was wondering if maybe I should just order a header pipe for now just to get me back on the road. I found this chrome one for gy6 150 so Im guessing that means any gy6. Do you know if this would work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCOOTER-150CC-GY6-OEM-CHROME-EXHAUST-HEADER-WITH-NCY-GASKET/181556174401?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D20140407115239%26meid%3Db5538d6f54064df0a83 7c5e3fcdda6dc%26pid%3D100204%26prg%3D2014040711523 9%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D171501058178
I still plan on upgrading my exhaust but i'm kinda short on money now. The header is only $32.

I would think that would work. Look yours over and make sure the bends match. It should. There are only a couple of GY6 150cc styles. The other one is a one piece muffler/header and you don't have that.

Well I have the new pipe on but my stock header has some hose coming from it near the engine, the new one doesn't. I couldn't get the hose off the old one so I cut it as close as i can. None of the header pipes I have seen online have the little hose thing on it. My question is what does the hose do and what should I do with it now? Its not connected to anything. I haven't tested it out yet because my battery was almost dead and i'm charging it now.

Well it's running fine now but I would still like to know whats up with that hose. Thanks in advance.
The hose is part of the emissions system on your scooter. The other end attaches to the air box snorkel...should be removed, and replaced with a vacuum cap, or at least plugged with a bolt and small hose clamp. This will keep unfiltered air from being sucked into your engine. 1st photo is before removing, 2nd is after..

It just started to stutter/bog/act like it wanted to cut off or something. I'm going to plug it and try it again. Hopefully that will work out.

I plugged it and I still get the same problem. Not sure what's going on.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Probably related to this pipe change. Start the scooter and listen carefully around the engine. If you hear a hissing sound, find the source. I had a similar problem years ago and it was a bad relief valve open to the air pulling vacuum. I plugged it and all was well.

That's been my main problem all day, I been trying all day to get it started back up I got it to start one time but it wouldn't idle it would only stay if I gave it a little bit of gas and it was still boging every time it hit about half throttle or less. I didn't have it on long enough to hear any air leaks. I always have a hard time when it gets colder but never this hard. I will try again later i'm letting the battery charge again.

Still doing the same thing but I think I figured it out. I seen smoke coming from where the pipe connects to the muffler. Once it cools off i'll try to tighten the bolts more to see if that does it. I have it on video here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY4WAuxxn5g&feature=youtu.be
