just replaced a slipping belt and has sluggish acceleration

its a 05 Yamaha Zuma 50 I checked to make sure clutch was good made sure it moved freely and clutch spring was good and was in the correct place and it was

Have you checked your weights?, also are you sure the belt is the exact same size (width wise)
