Here in Raleigh, I've seen a couple of electric scoots and have talked to a guy owning a Zero Electric Motorcycle. He bought it at a severe discount off the $12000 list price. He said the hardest things that he had to deal with was the quietness of the cycle, and the long wait of electrical charging. I guess 150 miles per charge doesn't really get you too far out on the road...

Thats the one one plus an ic engine has over an electric motor and batteries is range though as time goes by that should increase
Still a 150 mile range would suit me just fine as i average about 125 miles a day riding on any of my scoots

The 150 mile range is for the Zero cycle. The biggest TransGreen scooter does 45Kph and has a range of maybe 50 miles, but only a 4 hour charging time. But you're right, Inuyasha. Things will get better in time. The big question is, will I still be around when my perfect electric scooter is available??? LOL

My Kymco 500 gets roughly the same mileage on a fill up. Which considering I'm using it basically for my day to day commute would be a fine addition to the garage.

However, and I have this same concern about lower cc bikes, is "Would it be safe on the roads I have to drive?"

In my case the cars around me reach 70 MPH (113 KPH) on ave. Until a electric scooter is able to consistently maintain that speed I'm not that interested.
