Hi rebels
im kinda confused? here are the questions::

1. if im aiming for the highest rpms, why would the normal idle be 2000 rpms?

2. what is the normal rpms? ive heard 1,500 to 2000 rpms while idle

3. just to confirm, what does 'idle' mean? to me its when you are standing still with the motor on right?

4. if i totally unscrew my idle SPEED screw, (which is the other screw) and my rpms do not go down further than 2000 rpms, is something wrong?

5. which way is rich and which way is lean, does it depend on the type of carb? someone told me if its on the outlet side its a fuel screw and if its on the inlet side its a air screw?

Idle and mixture are two different things. the throttle-stop screw is the idle.

Have you made sure the throttle is connected correctly? If the throttle cable is too tight, your idle will be really high.

As I said before, the idle should be set at 1600-1800 rpms, AFTER you have adjusted the air/fuel mixture correctly.

I disagree with his set it at 1 turn out then adjust. I always use backed-out 2 and 1/2 as the starting point to air/fuel mixture adjustment.
