one week in, still runs great just hit 100 miles. Then last night, I was leaving home depot and it wont start. Jumped it, started right up. Took it to auto zone to test the battery, battery says it needs to be replaced. The place I got it from says it was a new battery, so I dont want to just get a new battery yet. Cool thing about the place I got it from is they are sending me a voltage regulator. They say its an easy switch out, plug an play type thing. They claim its common with this scoot.
Anyone have experaince with this issue?

They claim its common with this scoot.I called a few Roketa dealers and they said. they haven't had any problems with them.

The one on mine is going on 5yrs old.

went to auto zone and had the lady there hook up a voltage meter. The tech guy at superior said to turn on the scoot and see if the volt went up. This lady wouldnt let me turn on my scoot, she was scared she would get shocked, then told me it says I need a new battery, she unhooked it and went inside...waste of time. Oh well, I 'll put the need volt reg. on and see if the battery charges correctly.

Welcome....I would charge the battery and see what happens. You need to get a volt/ohm meter at Walmart or your local auto parts store. Then you check the battery and see what your meter shows. Have you done a PDI on your scoot since you purchased it? Let us know, we are here to help. Enjoy Your Ride....

They're probably sending you a new Reg/Rectifier cause it's cheaper than a battery.
But, yea, ya still should have a volt meter hard wired in to see what the charging system is doing.
I have one on my Honda Shadow it saved me some headache cause I could see the voltage dropping, and headed home, and it died just as I got there.
Agreed, give the battery a good charge and see if it retains a full charge. Chances are it was just drained, enuf to start the coot, but not enuf to maintain a good charge.
Let us know

thank guys, got a meter and it says full charge now, 12.5. Turn on the scoot and it slowly climbs up just like it should. Got the replacement volt reg, but I'll just hold on to it for now. So far so good!

I installed a volt meter on my scoot and it helps to make sure the R/R is working properly. It shows 13.2 volts running down the hiway, with everything on. I have installed HID's and LED's and it keeps the battery charged.http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr163/hinchb/f9a64ac8-f9f6-41eb-b57e-ca6576f7946a_zps8ddef65e.jpg (http://s480.photobucket.com/user/hinchb/media/f9a64ac8-f9f6-41eb-b57e-ca6576f7946a_zps8ddef65e.jpg.html)

It seems pretty common on scooters to have a small maintainance charger or to fully charge the battery up every week or so. My 250 mc-79 runs well, but doesn't seem to ever fully recover during normal use. Of course I also have an alarm module on it, so often there is current draw when the scooter is parked. Sorry to say, but clerks at parts stores used to be at least familiar with the things they sell. Now days, raisins or radiators, it's just something they sell, and if it's not in the book, they haven't got a clue.

May, I ask where did you get that volt meter from I think it is a great addon for my scoot.

Thanks

I purchased the meter on Ebay....it was a quick install and I hooked it up to the instrument lights. Enjoy your ride...
